Brake Pad Posted October 17, 2013 #1 Posted October 17, 2013 from another post of leaving someone behind, do I have to tell my story. about 7 years ago, my wife and I were riding with our Star Chapter, Heading to Leesburg Bike fest. we ran in three groups because we were too large to run altogether up the highway. at the morning briefing. they told us, when we get to the rest area's, each group will have 15 minutes to take care of business, and be ready to roll, as the next group, should be in gassing up, and following suit. (We were in the 3rd group) all the guys with trailers., so we pull in, I drop the wife off, to do her business, and I go and gas up. well the gas station only has one ways, for both north and south bound traffic. so after gassing up, I had to go down the south bound lanes, to U-turn, and come back up the North side of the building. so I can pick the wife up, and keep going. so , I'm waiting at the far end of the parking lot, not to get into traffic, as cars were flying in and out of there., from a far, I watch, my third group start there roll away, asking over the CB, are we ( the wife & I ) ready to roll. I tell them to go a head, we'll catch up., so about 5 minutes later, the wife come walking out of the building, with 2 big gulps soda's. she looks both ways, turns around, looks back up at the sign, that said Northbound, walks out to the street, to see no motorcycles at all,... her expression was priceless, as she throw, the soda down on the ground, and looked like she was going to cry, when I pulled up. Holy SH** !!!! Batman.... She was Pissed !!!!! But I laughed inside, then asked, was that soda for me? "Where the F were you !!!!, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.... so, to push the issue, I ask, if her watch is broke..... My left arm still hurts from where she punched me.... and I almost dropped the bike But the look on her face, that S.O.B. left me behind !!!!!. Now my motto is, I wait for know one.......
EasyRider Posted October 17, 2013 #3 Posted October 17, 2013 Because of posts like this .... and others I now have to wear a helmet if I even think about laughing when on this site with my wife reading over my shoulder. Flyinfool Posted October 17, 2013 #4 Posted October 17, 2013 I had a similar experience. Stopped at the grocery store where Erika was going to just run in quick for something. She knows that because of the size of my truck I always park at the back of the lot so I can hog 2 spaces and not upset to many people. Well she went into the store and I was parked in a place where I could see the checkouts, so when I saw her getting done I tried to be a nice guy and pulled right up to the door for her. As she came out the door she gave me a dirty look because my truck was blocking her path to the parking lot, she walked around my truck and headed up the isle to where I normally park. Sooo being the nice guy that I am I followed about 10 feet behind her all of the way to the back of the lot where she was getting visibly POed that I was not there. She did not realize I was right behind her till she turned around to head back to the store since it was a little drizzly out. She almost walked into the front of the truck before she realized it was me. I could not help but to be laughing out loud, She got me to quit laughing quick enough... I didn't think my truck was that hard to see........
