foyerboy Posted October 16, 2013 #2 Posted October 16, 2013 Oh my gosh.....that is crazy....didn't see that one coming...
Venturous Randy Posted October 16, 2013 #3 Posted October 16, 2013 Man, I could have went all day without seeing that. Ouch. RandyA
bill in mn Posted October 16, 2013 #4 Posted October 16, 2013 why that is a very safe sling shot. Never got close to his hand.
Bubber Posted October 16, 2013 #5 Posted October 16, 2013 I didn't see that one coming. OUCH !!!!!!!!!!! WOW that hurt even to watch it!
uncledj Posted October 16, 2013 #6 Posted October 16, 2013 I feel guilty for laughing, but that was funny. Hope he's OK.
Barrycuda Posted October 17, 2013 #7 Posted October 17, 2013 I laughed the second time around. Next time he needs a helmet to protect is dome, never mind his hand. And maybe a cup and some eye protection.
Barrycuda Posted October 17, 2013 #9 Posted October 17, 2013 I guess I had better feel guilty too. Was probably bearings from another broken down HD on the side of the road that he used. maybe it'll knock more sense in him next time...do not use side of the road HD ball bearings for his sling shot :whistling:
dingy Posted October 17, 2013 #10 Posted October 17, 2013 That was frigging hilarious, really. Overconfidence in engineering will bite you in the buttocks, or face, sometimes. Gary
Drreb Posted October 17, 2013 #11 Posted October 17, 2013 Dumb a** oh wait I mean oh wow was that ever cool.....
dogman Posted October 17, 2013 Author #13 Posted October 17, 2013 Oh I laughed too. I was hoping others would see the humorous side also.
Squidley Posted October 17, 2013 #14 Posted October 17, 2013 Yep....I laughed as well, still have the tears in my eyes
cimmer Posted October 17, 2013 #15 Posted October 17, 2013 He could have shot his eye out, kid. Rick F.
ReinyRooster Posted October 17, 2013 #16 Posted October 17, 2013 Ya....have to admit I laughed my butt off.
Huggy Posted October 17, 2013 #17 Posted October 17, 2013 Still laughing!!!!! But it hurts when I laugh!!!!!:rotf::rotf::bang head::bang head::buttkick::buttkick:
bongobobny Posted October 17, 2013 #18 Posted October 17, 2013 He's actually lucky to be alive! Did you take a close look at that wound?!!? Dumba$$
billmac Posted October 17, 2013 #19 Posted October 17, 2013 First thing I thought he should not be using the shed for a back stop. I've shot a few sling shots and learned those little tricks.
JohnT Posted October 17, 2013 #20 Posted October 17, 2013 I didn't actually laugh, grinned a little after I did the owie thing a bit. My main thought is that his slingshot has more power than I thought it would. I mean, he buried that ball in the unintended target. It actually has hunting / self defense possibilities. Oh yeah, I feel sorry for the dumb@$$
darthandy Posted October 17, 2013 #21 Posted October 17, 2013 Something about that video doesn't seem right. I've had experience with small caliber pellet guns and slingshots over the years and I've never seen anything bounce off wood hard enough to bury itself into a human skull the way that bearing did (You can see the shiny object on his forehead just before he puts his hand up there.). It seems to me that a 22 mm (Nearly one inch) ball moving fast enough on rebound to bury itself that far into a human skull would have buried itself into the wood in the first place. As well, that blood looks too clear and runs too quickly. I've had something bounce off my head and break the skin and no way was I bleeding like that. I wonder if this wasn't just a special effects set up. I could be way off base here, but I just can't see a bearing that size having enough energy to do that after bouncing off wood. As well, in the closeup of his head as he lies on the ground, there seems to be quite a wound just beside the spot where the blood is coming out ... how could he have two wounds? And finally, what are the chances that the camera, which seems to have been on a stand beside him, would fall in exactly the right spot to catch a closeup, in focus view of the wood? Like I said, I could be wrong here but i think this was a hoax. If I'm wrong, then I guess I owe the guy an apology.
dingy Posted October 18, 2013 #22 Posted October 18, 2013 Below is another video clip detailing the making of the slingshot fail video at the top of this thread. Took about 15 minutes after I circulated original video at work for this video detailing how the original video was created to be located. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0f8_1380635899&comments=1 Gary

I also noticed his shirt was pretty much blood stained at the beginning of the video. It is a hoax.

Not saying it aint possible but it sure dont seem reasonable.. Also noticed the guys shirt had some red paint like stuff on it that may have been from a practice session or two for the clip...
