I called the local Honda/Yamaha dealership where I have my 07 RSV serviced and asked about hitches. They stated they can't get any hitches for this bike and I would have to have one custom made. I thought that was a bit hokey. After searching the Internet, I came across Khrome Works Receiver Hitch.

Does anyone have this installed on their bike? Is installation easy? Any problems with it?

Thanks.

The design is much like all the rest of the hitchs available for the 2ndGen Venture. Since our Venture has finally been discontinued a lot of the larger dealers are starting to blow out accessories. So shop around. There are a couple of members who also make them. The installation is fairly straight foreward. Remove the crossmember on the frame and replace it with the hitch. 4 bolts and you're good to go. The wiring will take more time.

The Khromewerks is a very good hitch. If you want basically the same thing for less than half the price, contact Carbon_one on this site. He makes fantastic products.

Any one still making a hitch for 1st gens? That actually fit? I bought one that was supposed to be for a 1300 and it is about 2 inches too short

M61A1MECH makes the wiring harness. Nice, clean, easy way to connect trailer wiring without cutting into the bike wiring. Uses male/female connectors and a pig tail.

I have the Krome Works hitch and the wiring harness from the forum. +1 on the wiring harness, -1 on the hitch. The harness is very easy to install, and helps avoid the need to cut into the bike's wiring. The Krome Works hitch, while very easy to install, has a terrible positioning for the attach points for the safety chains. Carbon One's hitch has a better placement for these attach points.

I installed my hitch. I went with the Khrome Werks one. It fit nicely.

I tried to se d M61A1MECH a message but I don't think he is a member any more. I would love to buy his wiring harness if he still has any left. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him.

Thanks

+1 on carbon one/ Larry on any of his products.

As for Steve, aka M61A1MECH, he is still very much an active member who also is an excellent resource. Try resending a PM, if I am not mistaken, his work schedule has picked up some...
