For any of yous on facebook, there is page devoted to motorcycle camping, with some VRO members. https://www.facebook.com/groups/backroadsmotorcyclecamping/

Yep, this is our page, we'll be camping at Shades State Park near Rockville, IN next weekend. Covered Bridge Festival starts that weekend. Great park, still have sites open, it is a non-electric campground however. We'd be up for any camping opportunities we could make, 2-3 hours on a Friday is no problem at all.

Dave, great idea and good luck setting it up. I would love to participate, but you are just too far for me to join for a weekend ride and camp. Especially if I bring my wife. She doesn't like to have to rush.

You call that a boat? I thought you were getting a BOAT!

Here in Texas we throw a skiff like that back after a couple uses...

Looks like we have a group

The reason I started the thread was to find some members within a short distance for weekend camp outs

Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan

A few hours on a Friday afternoon

Was not trying to leave anyone out

Campfire12 - Ohio , Frogmaster - Michigan , Skid - West VA

I know these guys have some gems to show off

Myself - Ohio - Hocking hills and most of southern OH has some great rides

We had a group Camp out a couple of years back at Snowden Lake

I Plan do a group get together next season May or June I am looking at.

I know the southern VR members have some great spots to show off

I make it down to the Ashville get together

That is always a good time

I am about 85% sure I am camping out next weekend the 12th to the 145th at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion Va at the foot of the "Back of the Dragon" (RT 16) should be some good riding, I hear the tropical storm that is coming up will probally take most of the leaves away next this weekend and early next week.

If I did not just take a run to NC I would join ya

That's about a 6 hour ride

Dave,

Sounds like a great idea and some good times ahead. Count me in for next spring and if there is anything I can help with, please ask. :happy34:

Add Leadwolf56, Gator06 and Wolfrider, all from Indiana.

This could turn out to be some great times.

Dave,

There is a very nice KOA within a mile of my house. Several state and county parks and several other private campgrounds. There are also three acres of woods and another in yards, behind my house. There is a very bike friendly tavern between me and the KOA. Lots of great riding roads and sights to see.

Now all I have to do is get this @%## bike back together. :bang head:

It is a great idea and you reasons a great.

I just wish I lived closer to VR riders.

However this will give me a place to post the camping trips I am planning and if anyone reads the post and are in the area, they will be more than welcome to join in. Much of my camping is within 25 miles of a motel, because a couple of my friends will make the trip but don't camp so that option is open to anyone in the area that doesn't camp.

Shamue.
