Cougar Posted October 1, 2013 #1 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) Well gang I got the first one on the Trike and I might say I love it. Its a little darker then the clearview and it almost has a polaroid effect. It really cuts the glare down like I thought it would from having the Clearview Tint in the past. I myself will not go back to a clear. From my riding today it really cut the glare down vers. the clear. even from the chrome around my tank and other stuff. Here are some pics of the clearview and the F4 Tint difference. Also notice the outer edge if the shot how it cuts the glare from the tree leaves with the sunlight hitting them. Above my awesome 1966 Beetle I have been bugging Don about wanting the Tinted version for about a year now and he came through. I also have to let him know that the TWO screen outside mounting holes are to far out I had to use my Dremal to make it match the holes that was pretty easy to do. Here are some pics. some won't like but I do ! Clearview and F4 Tint What the bottom looks like with out the chrome piece installed Beetle Shot Some outside pics , very pleasing to my eyes. THANKS F4, I cringed cleaning the very first time using WINDEX and Bounty Paper Towels Like Don told me to do. Don also says you can even use the blue gas station towels as well. I have been so used to using Novus Cleaner. The Windex works GREAT !! I did notice how smooth it was when wiping off the windex. and no strekes at all. Enjoy, Jeff Jay your clearview (clear) screen with ship out soon. do the paypal thing soon please. EDIT:: I will be riding to work at 2AM in the morning and I will let you know what I think with it being dark out. This will be Don's Price break down for the Tinted sizes from him. 14.5 $210 with vent $280 -- 17.5 $220 with vent $290 -- 17.5W $230 with vent $300 -- 19.5W $240 with vent $310.00 Edited October 1, 2013 by Cougar
JerryT Posted October 3, 2013 #3 Posted October 3, 2013 Got my 14.5 tinted F-4 w/o vent in Aug. Got it installed right before a trip and have over 6000 miles with it. I agree and love the tint. I had the oversized f-4 on for the past 4+ years. These are fantastic and yes cleaning is very easy. I use whatever towels the station supplies, wet the first one with the stations wash to clean, then dry with a couple more towels. Works great. I really liked the oversized shield except it kills fuel mileage. Since I normally ride alone decided to go smaller. Fuel mileage went up 4-5 miles per gallon, sometimes more depending on speed. Don and everyone at F-4 are always very helpful and is a great supplier. In my opinion have the best product out there. You won't regret this purchase.
bongobobny Posted October 3, 2013 #4 Posted October 3, 2013 Your pictures have pretty much convinced me Jeff!! Can't wait for your night time driving review!!
Cougar Posted October 3, 2013 Author #5 Posted October 3, 2013 OK , I took it yesterday Morn about 2AM to work I take Very Rural Roads to work and I must be able to see all the critters and such... This tent is 2X's Darker then the Clearview Tint that most of us have been using . I would say it is OK with me , If I look over the shield I would say that I could see about 100 feet or less then the clear. we are talking NO city lights etc. However when I got into the City it was just fine It also REALLY helped on the cars coming towards me with there lights. I did also notice the street lamps in the city where also filter by the F4 for less glare. This is with my bights on most of the way. I will next time take some Half and Half pics looking through it in a VERY dark area. Otherwise So far I love it. 11 Stars. and the customer support is fast as well. Don says that the F4 Basically has RAINX built into there shields and to make it factory fresh again you just use rubbing alcohol and a paper towel and its back to normal for the rain shedding. I would swear that this Tint has some type of polaroid filtering in it. maybe Don can tell use what it is? Jay your clearview has been shipped see PM.
