Does anyone have a drawing/plans for use when jacking a RSV correctly by the frame? I thought I saw a thread a few weeks back but can't find again. :D

The one from Carbon One (Larry) is the way to go. Get it with the legs for easy storage and stability when working on the bike. $155 - http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3729&title=carbon-one-freestanding-lift-adapter&cat=24

Rolltide, I realize its been over a year since you posted this so you've probably already resolved the issue.... But I'm in the process of designing an adapter for my Craftsman lift. I tried attaching a PDF of my CAD drawing, but it didn't work. Once I figure out how to do it, I'll send along the design.

I recently bought a used red craftsman lift and fiddled around with it a little. It can be positioned under the bike so that one skid is under the "center stand tabs" and the other skid is under the driver footrest frame brackets. I delicately pumped it up a few times which was enough to raise the font tire 1/2 inch off the floor so I could spin the wheel and play with the calipers. It felt like I could have lifted the whole bike with a couple more pumps. Would there be an issue with raising the whole bike in this manner? If I went higher would I find that the front/rear balance would be off?

If the jack is positioned correctly the bike will lift up evenly. With my lift adapters you can take off either wheel and the bike will still stay level.

I'll also mention that I've never strapped down a bike while using my adapters. They're that solid.

Thank you Larry for the info! If it weren't for the fuel pump fiasco distracting me I might've been ready to order the adapter. It's gonna be on my Christmas list.

I have a motorcycle jack, but couldn't figure how to get it under my 83 venture. The ex. pipes hang below the frame.

Does someone make an adapter plate to fit on jack lift, fit inside of ex. pipes and under frame?

On the First Gen the normal jacking procedure is to jack up the bike while supported on the exhaust headers.

I have found that I cannot jack up the First Gen while the bike is on the centerstand. Moving the jack forward of the centerstand in order to jack it up causes the bike to be front heavy. Put the bike on the sidestand and place one of the jacking points about where the centerstand bracket is and the other jacking point will contact on the forward headers.
