Skid Posted September 30, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 30, 2013 Over the weekend my wife lost the audio in her helmet. (No intercom or music) After I returned home I checked it out and discovered its not the headsets. I suspecting at the cable coming from under the trunk and wondering if anyone has experienced this before. Kind of searching for ideas as to where to start and what has to be removed. etcswjoe Posted September 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2013 Happened to us and it turned out to be the cable under the passenger seat had come unplugged.
Gary N. Posted September 30, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) Yup, just replaced the cable on mine that runs from under the fairing, gas tank and seat to the back fender. Mine had a bad spot right at the neck. No visible damage but when I wiggled it back and forth the passenger headset would cut out. I had this happen on both of the RSVs that I've owned. wes0778 Posted September 30, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 30, 2013 Yep, same thing here, I ended up replacing the female half of the plug under the passenger seat. Good luck on finding one! I had to buy a MIDI extension cable from Rat Shack and cut one end off. That was fun as the color codes in the MIDI cable don't match the colors in the RSV harness. bongobobny Posted September 30, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2013 Also, I know this sounds stupid but, make sure the volume control didn't accidentally get turned down all the way. Don't ask how I know this...

Mouser Electronics or Digi-Key have the connectors.
