I need the help of the brethren on this one...

I am looking for a decent (read not harbor freight) parts washer. I have a 55 gallon drum so I really only need just the top tub. I want to get a reasonably deeper tub to hold larger items, and something that has a recirculating pump in it with a brush.

I have looked at new complete ones, but they are on crack with the prices starting at $500. I know some of y'all have a bit more time to search for thing on the web than I do. So if you run across some deals or things that fit this bill, could you post them up here on this thread please :)

Brad, I have one here in the shop that's about 20 years old and never been used ie: I've never put solvent in and turned the pump on. I've only ever put a little in a cake pan inside of it and washed the part in that. It just takes up floor space in my shop.

How's $50 sound? I can't deliver until January though. If it will fit in the trailer with everything else. I think it holds 5 gallons of solvent.

Sounds like a deal! $50 for the tub and $400 in gas.

Texas is a LONG way from SW Ontario.

Somehow I think Ground-Hugger got it. (only because he beat me to it.)

I WISH I could drive to Texas for $400. Go'n anyway so no big deal. So long as I can find room in the trailer.

just a big tub from a farm store, put a 1 1/4 drain on it, a hardware screen over the drain on the bottom and a recirculating pump.

I'm thinking that this may be what I do. I'll buy a big used stainless sink and do a little plumbing

If he don't take it I will!!!:backinmyday:

I have let Gary know that unfortunately I dont want to wait until January. Looks like your on the winning side of the countries :thumbsup2:

It's still up for grabs if you're interested.

The one that Bob posted is the one we have at work-- ours has a light mounted on it with a flex stem so ya can bend it and see inside when the lid is open. Other then that its the same thing- and works great. Just a tub that mounts on a 30 gallon barrell
