Apology

It has been brought to my attention that a comment I made in the thread concerning the dropped bike donation was taken as a slam at the folks who put on the 2013 International Rally.

 

So, let me take this opportunity to publicly apologize to those members who went above and beyond to put together a fantastic event.

 

All seed money which was advanced to cover the up-front expenses for the rally was reimbursed and the fund received a donation of the funds taken in over and above their expenses.

 

Unfortunately, what was intended as a left handed way of prompting members for donations without coming right out and asking (which I really hate doing) actually came out appearing as a slam against the hosting committee .

 

That was not the intent, and I am truly sorry that I left anyone with that impression.

WOW! How easily people misinterpret things!!!

 

Folks, having been on the 2012 committee, ALL money fronted to the IR committee is returned! We do not use the money donated to the Special Funds to fund any rally or social event! The fund is strictly for things such as flowers for funerals, people in extreme need, etc!! The money fronted to the committee is to reserve facilities, etc before the event dues are sent in. All money (and sometimes extra) is returned to the fund as soon as the registration fees come in!

I know you feel you needed to come on and present this apology. This also is not to belittle what some have felt from the 2013 committee. I dont know all the details, but I will say 1 thing. Besides Freebird, you are the 2nd hardest working moderator on this site. I know how much more you do behind the scenes to help this site along and manage numerous accounts, all for the good of this site. It might not need to be said by me, but THANK YOU for everything you do and just plain out handle with our website. I personally appreciate you being here and helping us out
