seeing Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 New to Yamaha Venture have a 99 in great shape but has a ticking sound much like the old sound of spark plugs in AM radio if not resistor type. If anyone has had this and found the problem please let me know my wife and I can still talk while riding but then I have to turn volume down to keep from hearing the ticking sound. Also in her head set but not as loud as in mine. Standard radio that comes on Yamaha is what we have nothing extra. All we want to do is have silence if we are not talking to each other. KeithR Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Not sure about the ticking noise but if you want silence you may want to invest in Mic-Mutes. Read thru this post and you will have a better idea what they are and do. Keith http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66880&highlight=mutes
djh3 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 2 things I have found that cause the ticking. If the "IC" volume is high then it picks up more motor noise. Also you may find repositioning the audio cables on the right side a little will help.
dacheedah Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 does it have resistor plugs?? Is the cb turned off
