I got a cooler rack from Larry carbon one trying to get the lights to work and I'm having no luck. I picked up a trailer wire converter has 4 way flat at one end to plug into the cooler rack and 5 wires coming out the other end. One for LT, RT, Brake, Tail and ground to wire to the bike. Note I have an RSTD. It seems I can only get the running lights to work when plugged into the cooler rack plug. If I just use a 4way flat at both ends I can get everything to work except Brake.

HELP what is the problem or what am I doing wrong. This is what I bought.

Probably going to need a 5 to 4 convertor like we do on the trailers.

But I'm the last Guy to give electrical advice. I earned the nickname "Sparky".

NEVER MIND. REREAD YOUR POST.

DUH.

From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

Double check your connections to the bike.

The bikes wire colors are all different than the wire colors on the converter.

The converter that you have is not an isolator type, The isolator type is preferred for bikes.

With the isolator type, all of the power for the trailer lights comes from the battery and not thru the bikes electrical system.

Do you have a part number on what I need? That would help me a lot. What auto part store could I get it from.

what one did you buy?? where did you catch your signal?

What I bought I guess is not a isolator one so I guess I need a 6 wire to 4 wire flat so I can get power from the battery.

does your cooler rack have turn signals separate from the tail and brake light ?

Its an LED light bar across the back that has been all wired from Carbon one. The light bar is running L&R turn and brake with separate LED on side for marker.

Joe Hope that answers your question.

If your making your connections under the seat using the convertor in your pic it should be.

convertor/ bike

white to ground

brown to blue for tail lights

yellow to brown for left trn

red to yellow for brake

green to green for right turn

I would highly recommend you get one of Steve's wiring harnesses before cutting into the wiring under the seat.

for some reason this didn't post in the way I typed it sry but left column is convertor and right side is bike colors for wiring under the seat.

Playboy has the right wiring colors posted up. Also his suggestion of getting one of Steve's wiring harnesses is a very good idea too. I have one of his on my trike . Works great and makes wiring up the convertor a snap. :080402gudl_prv:
