Good afternoon everyone. It's been quite a while since my last post (I purchased an HD and have been dormant in the Royal Star world). Try not to look down on me for my minor shortcomings!!

Anyway, I need to fix my HD with a Yamaha part. I'll explain - I recently removed the bag rails from my Ultra but that left 2 holes in earch crash bar. The holes are 1/2" in diameter and are 4" appart - measured from the top of the upper hole to the bottom of the lower one. I was looking for way to cover those but still keep them available in case I should decide to put the bag rails back on. That's when the idea popped into my head of the reflectors and bracket that went around the crash bar of my RSTD when I had it. I was thinking that those reflectors would be just long enough to cover both holes and I could make them work on my 7/8" HD crash bar.

I started looking around for them at different stores, thinking they might be something I could just pick up. Not a chance. I then decided to look into the Yamaha specs and find a part number. Cross-referencing that on line I found them!!! OMG are they spendy. It looks like it would cost me over $50 per side. $100 for a couple relectors. WOW.

So, that brought me here. Does anyone have a set of these reflectors they'd be willing to part with at a reasonable cost? Please let me know.

PS - I put plenty of HD stuff on my Yamaha so I might just as well put a little Yamaha stuff on my HD.

Thanks in advance.

I happen to have (2) reflectors.

Amber in color.

Part number on the ones I have are 070-0502 made by Stanley.

Both are Amber in a black housing which has one small bolt/ nut on back side for mounting.

You can have them both for $20.00 plush shipping.

Shipping from 35824 zip code.

Shipping should not be but $1.50 (guessing).

Eck,

I appreciate the offer but I was really looking for the red ones. I'll certainly keep your offer in mind if nothing else comes up. I'd like to think I can change the reflector color, right? Since you have a set, can you say for sure how long they are? The bracket needs to be at least 4" to work.

Thanks

Sorry,

I wanted to take a photo of what I had for your review.

The amber ones I have are 3.25 in length. (Not the 4 inches you need)

Well I have a set, but I am keeping them, I took mine off because in wind tunnel testing I noticed how much they drag wind and cause turbulence So I replaced them with HD's! They are curved to fit the bar!!!!

This is the front!

And maybe zoom on this,

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d139/usmcxterra/20130829_150247_zpsb04806f6.jpg

Or below you can maybe see, but I ran High intensity LED's in RED in the holes to cover up the index holes left by the Yami Reflectors, they shine on the bag and it looks bad azz at night and increases visibility, and THATS another reason I went HD reflectors, more surface area and visibility over the Bulky Yami stock ones.

When I was doing up my ROADSTAR I wanted same thing as you Venture Reflectors, I nearly had a heart attack also when I seen the price.

What you see here are simply HD part numbers, you walk in, look at a bike, pick the year and order up. $5.00 each, they stick on with 3m tape included and ready to rock! For $20 your problem is solved. Or less if you just need two.

I don't have the part numbers HERE but there are Out in the shop, but you don't really need them, they are 4 different numbers, there is a Left and right. No big deal just go order up and keep it all HD!

The Venture reflectors have index holes to keep them from twisting and they would need to be drilled or 3 m taped to hold in place.

If you twist my arm I'll ship you my red ones Half what you can get them for, But I think this is a better fix for you. They can be removed easily in the future with Fishing string, and they are a lot less wind resistant, FreeBird has also jumped ship as you may know, and he says Lets keep it all HD!

So walk in, look on the floor show them what you want and order up. Notice how they are mounted as there is a left and right and an up side and a downside. Don't think it really matters.

Disclosure, IronMike does claim this MOD as original!:lightbulb: I was keeping it secret. :stickinouttounge:

The high intensity LED at night from the side, Picture does no justice really.

And from the rear, Y'all thought I was BS ing when I ranted about changing your lighting to be seen in the Ohio Trooper hit Biker thread.

Anyways, Not meaning to Jack your thread, it was a while we are on the subject kind of thing.

I like reading Ion Mikes posts. Has clever ideas

Is that a Typo? (Ion Mike) :detective:

Thanks, I have done a lot of cool stuff, Took pictures too, LOL I will someday do a how to.

I travel the country for my work, and I go into Chrome and light shops and I have only seen those High Intensity LED's in Lake Station Indiana. About $15 each and they come with a Chrome cover that you can get in either to the side mount or light straight out mount,

they are so bright in total darkness they shine light 30 yds out.

You can see the Chrome part I am talking about in this picture of my FRONT Side increased visibility Modification.

You can kind of see the amber light shining on the ground here in this lit up Wal Mart Parking lot.

Thanks for the Kuto's though I was beginning to wonder if I was in stealth mode.

Well I think what your looking for are the second gen rear reflector mounts. They are sort of a clamp together deal and use a location hole to keep from sliding around. You may have to just fabricate a bracket or something to cover up the holes. I took my reflectors off and mounted LED clearence lights in them. REally helps in the dark hours. I also wired them up so they are a run/turn signal.

I highly suggest NOT removing the reflectors. Its required by law. You can look it up. I had a best friend who removed his, and he was broadsided by a lady who claimed not to have seen him. He is on Brain medication for life! He was in hospital for a year! And when the lawsuit boiled down, he got HALF as much because they proved he altered his factory DOT required lighting and reflectors. He took a old school Electraglide and made it a High HP Sportster and wanted the shaved clean look.

He had a clean shaved head for two years while they drained his brain. Yea no helmet. But seriously folks the reflectors are on there by law and for a reason. Add to em but never remove em!

And my lighting program is largely because I have to go see my friend I started out on Mini bikes with when we were 7 'Not quite himself due to poor lighting and no helmet.'

Just saying.

Those are the ones I'm looking for. They clamp together around the crash bar with a red reflector. I don't recall just how long they are but if they are 4" they will work for what I'm trying to do. So, if anyone has any please let me know.

I'm not opposed to other ideas but I know this will work if they are the correct length.

Thanks for all the replies.

You are still selling those?

I'm interested on them. BTW, do you have the brackets for them too?

Mike the lights are on all the time, so I would think they are better than a reflector. I guess I could check and see if with lights off if the reflect. The stripes on the bags reflect.

I checked my reflectors and their 4" long and fit on the 1" bag crash bar. they mount with four screws in a black case with red deflectors. have not seen what you've choose to do but this may work for you unless your looking for the led type. it's an 07 RSTD.
