Freebird Posted September 22, 2013 #1 Posted September 22, 2013 OK folks...this is the reason that I decided to go ahead and sell the RSV. Eileen is super excited about it and I really didn't need two motorcycles. This is about the cleanest used boat I have ever seen and I looked at a LOT of boats over the past few days. It is powered by a 350 MAG, Alpha Drive, with 344 Hours. It has never had any painting done on it and I couldn't find a single scratch or ding anywhere on the hull. I hope it is as good as it looks. We looked at it yesterday and made the deal on it today. Will pick it up next Friday after taking it on a test drive first.
mini-muffin Posted September 23, 2013 #2 Posted September 23, 2013 Well if that's the one Eileen wants then congrats on the new boat. She definitely deserves what she wants. Heck not only does she put up with you, she puts up with all of us invading her home once a year. Enjoy the new toy and I hope you have many happy hours with it. Margaret
Mike G in SC Posted September 23, 2013 #3 Posted September 23, 2013 That should be great fun on the Oberlin Reservoir! Oh, just looked at Google Maps, you got a bigger lake north of you. Nice boat. Mike G
etcswjoe Posted September 23, 2013 #4 Posted September 23, 2013 I like it So what is the boating forum going to be called?
Stealthblade Posted September 23, 2013 #5 Posted September 23, 2013 Sweet looking new ride. Congrats to you both. *makes secret plans to show up in OH on a friday night next year*
Huggy Posted September 23, 2013 #6 Posted September 23, 2013 Sooooooo........When are you taking us all out FISHING in the new boat??????
brd7666 Posted September 23, 2013 #7 Posted September 23, 2013 Very nice boat Don. With that engine, it should move pretty good. 344 hours is just getting broken in. Good luck.
Snaggletooth Posted September 23, 2013 #8 Posted September 23, 2013 OK. Love the boat. But i sense a Pond Monster hunt in the near future. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.
bill in mn Posted September 23, 2013 #9 Posted September 23, 2013 This is one of the two happiest days ever.JK ,nice boat.I have a fleet of boats 2 fishing ,23'sailboat,2 canoes and 3 kayaks here in the land of 10,000 lakes you need some way to get around. I use the kayaks the most and I spend allot of my free time on the bike. few more years and this work thing will not be in the way .
calperin Posted September 23, 2013 #10 Posted September 23, 2013 Hey congratulations, I don't want to ask but how many RSV did you said you sold to get the boat??? I hope Eileen didn't decide to start a monster pond search on it.... Enjoy it... BTW, did the trailer fit on the bike hitch????
Brake Pad Posted September 23, 2013 #11 Posted September 23, 2013 Ah, Freebird, I don't think harley makes a trailer hitch for that thang !!!
JohnT Posted September 23, 2013 #12 Posted September 23, 2013 Congrats dude. Regal is a fine boat and that one looks flat out cherry. 344 hours is nothing.
b2dad Posted September 23, 2013 #13 Posted September 23, 2013 Don & I have had lots of boats over the years but never one this big or this nice. We sure hope you & Eileen get lots of hours of enjoyment on this beautiful boat. Congrats! Oh yeah...what's her name??
Freebird Posted September 23, 2013 Author #14 Posted September 23, 2013 We were talking about that today. Haven't come up with a name yet but we will.
Flyinfool Posted September 23, 2013 #15 Posted September 23, 2013 Since you unloaded your RSV to get it. Maybe name it "Venture".
Aussie Annie Posted September 23, 2013 #16 Posted September 23, 2013 Will be expecting a visit down under
Trader Posted September 23, 2013 #17 Posted September 23, 2013 SLLLLLUUUURRRRRPPPPP!!! Bet you won't get the milage the Venture got!
bongobobny Posted September 23, 2013 #18 Posted September 23, 2013 Looks pretty seaworthy to me! Maybe you could name it Hardly A Venture...
XV1100SE Posted September 23, 2013 #19 Posted September 23, 2013 This year there was a draw for the cottage at your place for MD...will there be a second draw for the boat for the weekend? :-) Seriously... nice boat !
CaptainJoe Posted September 23, 2013 #20 Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) Land vehicles get "miles per gallon"(MPG) Boats get "gallons per mile"(GPM) BOAT also stands for "Break out another Thousand" Logic, doesn't matter though. If it makes your spouse happy. After all, you didn't buy that bike of yours to save on gas ...did you? EDIT* Hopefully the trailer was included in sale price, as boats can be pricey to store over the winter months... Edited September 23, 2013 by CaptainJoe
MidlifeVenture Posted September 23, 2013 #21 Posted September 23, 2013 Nice looking now you need to add some orange to it . Everything you have has to be orange and black when you own a HD
cowpuc Posted September 23, 2013 #22 Posted September 23, 2013 NICE RIG CHIEF!!!! If I owned a goregous craft like that I would HAVE to have it set up for Salmon fishing though!!! Yea,, you simply HAVE to paint a name on it,,, think I will start a new thread and see how creative we can get:stirthepot:
saddlebum Posted September 23, 2013 #23 Posted September 23, 2013 THE SS VENTURE RSV OR THE SS VENTURE RIDER Would be cool names for that beautiful new bathtub toy of yours guaranteed I'll be there for MD .
cowpuc Posted September 23, 2013 #24 Posted September 23, 2013 THE SS VENTURE RSV OR THE SS VENTURE RIDER Would be cool names for that beautiful new bathtub toy of yours guaranteed I'll be there for MD . DragonRider Posted September 23, 2013 #25 Posted September 23, 2013 Awesome looking boat there Don, I guess you will be hard pressed on nice days during the summer as to what you will pass the time doing. Do I ride the HD or go out in my yacht, tough decision, I know we used to spend a lot of time on the water when we were dating and first married. We shared a boat with my dad and when he wasnt out with it we were. Good luck with the test drive, hope it runs as good as it looks. Congratulations.
