Hummingbird Posted September 22, 2013 #1 Posted September 22, 2013 I know there are several here that have the Hannigan kit on their Venture so I'm asking for opinions and stories of gremlins relating to the kit. The reason for this query is because I'm looking at a 2007 Venture with a 2009 Hannigan kit and am curious if there are differences between the 2009 kit and the current kit that would make for a bad choice. I really do miss my '07' Venture, shouldn't have sold it
mega2500 Posted September 22, 2013 #2 Posted September 22, 2013 can't help you on the trike kit but in craigslist mpls there is a 2009 low mile trike with trailer that is listed by brother in law in K.C. MO
Carbon_One Posted September 22, 2013 #3 Posted September 22, 2013 Unlike the body changes of the newer Wings I don't think anything has changed on the Venture / Hannigan trikes except for them upgrading the brakes during the last year couple of years or so. Not sure when Hannigan first started making the conversions for the Ventures but I know they had them available in 07 when I did the 05 I had with a Tri-Wing kit. Larry
bongobobny Posted September 22, 2013 #4 Posted September 22, 2013 Yah! What Larry said! Overall the Hannigan is a great designed trike with a lot of plusses, but for the Venture one minus was the rear brakes. They've improved them, but I ended up going with a larger master cylinder and then stock Honda CRX calipers and rotors...
Hummingbird Posted September 25, 2013 Author #5 Posted September 25, 2013 well, the deal didn't fly - we couldn't get together on $$$ so I guess I'm stuck with a 2008 GL1800 AirBagger with a MotorTike Adventure kit. It has everything a person can get on a trike except the Venture PILLOW TOP seats and forward highway boards.
Hummingbird Posted September 25, 2013 Author #6 Posted September 25, 2013 oooops, I forgot - (pictures)
bongobobny Posted September 25, 2013 #7 Posted September 25, 2013 Nice looking Black Beauty! I see you are on Trike Talk too! You could have bought B2Dad's, it is a very nice trike and good price too!
Hummingbird Posted September 26, 2013 Author #8 Posted September 26, 2013 Too many variables involved when trading bikes - it's pretty difficult to compare apples to oranges sometimes Already had a 2007 and a 2008 GL1800 trike when his went up for sale - my problem was that they were both air baggers and less than 4000 miles on each one.
