Gem_Setter Posted September 21, 2013 #1 Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) While replacing my intake boots I noticed two "T"s at the top of the carbs. Should there be a hose in between these connecting the left two to the right two? I believe it is Item 45 that connects to 42 on the parts diagram. The list shows I need 2 but I cannot tell where they connect to. 99 RSV Thanks in adavance Allen Edited September 21, 2013 by Gem_Setter
Gem_Setter Posted September 22, 2013 Author #2 Posted September 22, 2013 Thanks for looking it appears they are vent tubes.
Condor Posted September 22, 2013 #3 Posted September 22, 2013 I wasn't sure what their function was, but FYI the hoses that come off the T are 1/4IDx3/8ODx25" I kinda thought they were overflows??
Gem_Setter Posted September 22, 2013 Author #4 Posted September 22, 2013 Yamaha parts diagram does not say much but the service manual shows them as a vent tube. I think the tubes are there just not hooked up. Looks like they run down behind the lower fairing. Does not seem right to vent a carb with out the air being filtered but I guess.
GeorgeS Posted September 23, 2013 #5 Posted September 23, 2013 IF, the Float Valve, sticks, in open position, and the bowls flood, the fuel will run out these Overflow hoses, I had this happen once, lots of fuel running down under the bike. thats why the hoses are supposed to run down behind the engine !!
crowrod Posted September 23, 2013 #6 Posted September 23, 2013 I think those hoses go to the air filter box openings, right at the D slot there is a a loop for them to go in. kinda like a vacuum for vapors.
