T.J. Posted September 11, 2013 #1 Posted September 11, 2013 I bought a Nolan N-43 Helmet about 4 years ago. It has the retractable sun visor with the flip of a switch on the side. Anyway it got caught on me and would not go up or down. I finally got it to come down but not without a big scratch on one of the lens. It has been that way for about 2 years now. I decided to call Nolan out of Aurora Ill. yesterday and asked them about it. They said send it in with a RA# they gave me and they would replace the mechanism and replace the shield as well, at no charge. It cost me $10. to ship it (two day) delivery and they will ship it back for free. They told me they usually have it fixed in a day. I would say that is pretty good service from Nolan. They are on the pricey side of life but a good helmet. So if you have an issue with your Nolan Helmet it maybe worth a call. bongobobny Posted September 11, 2013 #2 Posted September 11, 2013 We've been using Nolan for a few years now, and find them very comfortable, lots better than our old HJC's. Yes, I've heard their service is excellent as well!
ACE50 Posted September 11, 2013 #3 Posted September 11, 2013 I have a N43 trilogy. Didn't like at first. Noisier than my HJC and not as comfortable but like the chin-bar for added safety. Use it when on my sportbike. Easily taken apart when the sunshield sticks. Modified anyway to make it come down a little more. Added a detent to visor in a slightly open position. Comes with a full open or closed position only. Only bought it cause it was a model closeout and half price. Wouldn't buy it at full price. Better helmets out there for that. I even got $15 additional credit when I got it cause it had a bad paint spot on it.
Phoneman1981 Posted September 12, 2013 #4 Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks for posting. We own two N103 helmets and one of them has that nasty habit at times. Love them anyway.
BigLenny Posted September 12, 2013 #5 Posted September 12, 2013 My wife and I have the Nolan N43 Trilogy's. Love them. We use the chin bar most of the time. Especially when we're on the freeway. The face sheild comes down so much farther than other open face helmets that it knocks the wind off of our microphones and makes things quieter when we're talking.
