scotta68 Posted September 8, 2013 #1 Posted September 8, 2013 Hello all, proud new owner of a 2000 RSV here. Been making some changes on the bike to clean the backend a bit and looking for a smaller antenna. Seen all the post's about the Marshall mod and the Firestik, but thats really still more than what I want. Looking for a stubby antenna or even a good working hidden antenna. Already removed CB as it is something I will never use and I'm not crazy about the look of the whips. Any input would be greatly appreciated
MikeWa Posted September 8, 2013 #2 Posted September 8, 2013 About anything will work for am/fm. I used to use an old piece of a coat hanger. Just keep in mind as you decrease the antenna you decrease the reception. There is a big difference between around town and on the road. Mike
Wrench Posted September 8, 2013 #3 Posted September 8, 2013 I'm looking at doing the same to clean mine up too. I stopped at a local car audio shop a couple weeks ago and the guy said this is about the best hidden antenna he's used in a fairing. He said it will pick up "strong" FM stations for about 50 miles. I usually just use the radio around town anyway, mp-3 the rest of the time. dacheedah Posted September 8, 2013 #4 Posted September 8, 2013 You can put an antenna in your fairing and be hidden, I know people who have them and they work ok but reception is now what the whip is.
