Jayceesfolly Posted September 2, 2013 #1 Posted September 2, 2013 There is a helicopter show this weekend in the Rochester, NY area and it was organized by Ray Stacy, a VR member. His son placed fourth in the world helicopter championships this year. That is quite an achievement for a young man. Congratulations to him. He was featured on the local news channel tonight. http://www.13wham.com/news/features/featured/stories/macedon-hosts-model-helicopter-showcase-1090.shtml Nice job, Ray and I'm sure you are very proud of your son. rstacy Posted September 2, 2013 #2 Posted September 2, 2013 Thanks Jim. I am very proud of Kyle. The event was a huge success. My blue 89 was just to the right of the camera but I couldn't get the camera man to pan over to it.
The Tooch Posted September 3, 2013 #5 Posted September 3, 2013 Awesome flight control, I wouldn't dare to think a rotary wing could pull off those types of aerobatics. (I wonder how he can visualize upside down and backwards? With forward-inverted flight and backwards-inverted my way of thinking the main rotors just flap & fold up as you attempt to roll inverted!) I know that most of the R/C's have a rigid main-rotor to pull off that semi-inverted banking he's doing, while moving aft!? I don't know if I want him in my right seat or not, cause I think he'd make me sick. That is some awesome flying, I know I couldn't do it! Congrart's to finish that high in a world competition is just amazing, cause I bet there wasn't much between 1st & 5th.
