Here ar esome photos of a typical 20 mm Vulcan Cannon, what the US Air Force call an M61 and in some configurations M61A1.

 

Wish I had a dollar for every one I ever worked on and a nickel for every dummy round I ever cycled thru them.

Back in my army days, 69-71 I was trained on the Vulcan, it was a armored personal carrier with a Vulcan mounted on it. A lot of fire power in a small package.

Yes, the original versions of the AC-130H "Spectre" had two, along with a 40mm cannon and a 105 Howitzer. After 1994 the 20mm Vulcans were mostly removed, a 25mm version has replaced the two 20mm guns.

Had one on the FF I cruised on back in the late 80's. Had a couple names the Navy liked to call them, Sea Whiz was one, others just referred to it as R2D2. Sweet piece of weaponry and loud as hell!

In Vietnam we used to love watching them work out on the perimeter, sure would clear out an area in a hurry. Them along with the Cobras in the air made for a spectacular light and sound show...
