Condor, did you find the old dead pump and repair it with the points kit?

 

IronMike, were you able to swap out the pump? Were you able to salvage the wiring on the working OEM unit?

No Never did. It maybe around somewhere, but where?? I'll run across it someday... :)

Wanted everyone to see this as I feel it is a safety issue.

This is a duplicate post of my other thread on my fuel pump going out ( sticking) Sunday on the freeway - very dangerous situation at 75mph in traffic and suddenly no power. Look at my points - they only have 15,000 miles on them. They can't even be called "points", more like 'hunks'.

That is what my STOCK points look like today after only 15,000 miles.

 

Haven't received the replacement points in the mail yet.

 

I would suggest everyone pop the cap on their fuel pump and take a look for excess wear.
