Trader Posted August 28, 2013 #1 Posted August 28, 2013 Well....here's what I found. Like I said in another thread....I've got a new looking one from a parts bike. Here's hoping!
Flyinfool Posted August 28, 2013 #2 Posted August 28, 2013 Nothing partial about that. It is well done.....
Sylvester Posted August 28, 2013 #4 Posted August 28, 2013 Looks like my 2000 HD Ultra, 5 times in 8,000 miles. Said the last stator was better than the other five. Sold that @&$) piece of crap.
Trader Posted August 28, 2013 Author #5 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) OK....do I have a problem here....looks like a chunk is broken off! an now my %&*%*^*^%(*% computer won't recognize my phone to transfer the pics....I"ll try later! Edited August 28, 2013 by Trader
Huggy Posted August 29, 2013 #7 Posted August 29, 2013 A chunk broken off of what? Probably off his computer!
Trader Posted August 29, 2013 Author #8 Posted August 29, 2013 OK.....FINALLY got the &^%&% computer to recognize the phone and was able to upload the pics. It looks as if it is chewed away....about 1/2 the width of the "bar". Can't tell if it's plastic or magnet or what it is......Looks like cast but can't be sure of nothing. There is nothing like this molded bracket on my 84 parts bike. no sign of the missing bits in the old oil or filter.
KAWoodworth Posted August 29, 2013 #9 Posted August 29, 2013 I have a 2007 second gen, but that sure looks like a replacement rubber piece that came with my new stator. I pulled the plug on the Buckeye high output one.
Flyinfool Posted August 29, 2013 #10 Posted August 29, 2013 It is hard to tell from the pics. Is the broken edge nice and shiny like a fresh break would be or does it have the same brownish patena that everything else in there has? If the broken edge is the same color as everything else, that may have been like that from the factory. I can not think of anything that could get to there to break that off without major other damage.
