Flyinfool Posted August 28, 2013 #26 Posted August 28, 2013 Yes you can adjust your riding style to keep more distance. But that does not help when the texting cager pulls out in front of you, or a large animal darts in front of you, or any other of the myriad of things that you can not control that will require a max effort stop. There is a semi local trailer supply place (R&P Carriage) that does carry everything you need to put brakes in a 8" wheel. there is an electric 7" drum brake setup available. If I do it I will build a complete new axle with the brakes on it.

painterman67 Posted August 30, 2013 #32 Posted August 30, 2013 now I was told trailer weight should be half the weight of the bike plus anything on it..........with the bike being 750 or so olus me at 250 or so...then thats close to 1000....half that is 500............Ive pulled my 85 bunkhouse up and down Black Mountain in the rain and every where else we have camped with it with no problems on a 91 vr with the trunk , saddle bags and back seat loaded too... just be carefull David
HGWT Posted September 27, 2013 #33 Posted September 27, 2013 Load it, balance it, weigh the tongue weight to around 3--35 lbs, I see no problems.
IronMike Posted September 27, 2013 #34 Posted September 27, 2013 They are all talking sense here. The weight will be boss of the bike . sell it for more than you paid and start over. You thought this yourself or you would not have asked. Listen to yourself .
