Squidley Posted August 25, 2013 #1 Posted August 25, 2013 Does anyone here have some insight on what weight oil, and approximately how much one of the 1st gen rear shocks take. I have a bad shock on the back of the '83, and I have what I believe to be a good replacement in the garage. I'd like to drain as much of the old oil out as I can and replace it with some fresh proper weight oil. If anyone has some info or could steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it
frankd Posted August 25, 2013 #2 Posted August 25, 2013 I believe the shocks are nitrogen charged, and you'd loose the nitrogen if you open the shock.
