Headlight Adjustment

Searched posts for instructions to set height of headlight beam. Most say to measure 25 ft from bike headlight to reference wall while some say 17 feet. Which is correct? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, long long ago I was taught a 1" drop at 20 feet...

Sorry....a bit slow today...so 25ft is the proper distance?
