thecount Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Looking for info or point in the right direction. Mapsourse is no longer supported by Garmin as a mapping source to add into the GPS custom routes. Any advice to installing or instruction to installing to a new hard drive. My prior one (hard drive) is DOA, and no software to be found. Thoughts?? Help? Recommendations? Many thanks in advance for your expertise and advise. Steve
darthandy Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I've been using the Honda Powersports Trip Planner for a while now and find it quite useful. Unlike some others, it lets you put in a specific route rather than putting in departure and arrival points with the planner filling in the route for you. Sometimes I like to deviate a bit from what the planner wants! http://tripplanner.honda.com/ Andy
Wizard765 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) If you download and install basecamp then you will also get to use mapsource. I happen to like mapsource better than basecamp to continue to use it. or Try this Step 1: Download latest version of MapSource from Garmin. http://www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp Step 2: Rename file extension to a .rar instead of .exe Step 3: Use WinRar to extract to a folder (instead of running exe). http://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0 Step 4: Run MSmain.msi file, not Setup.exe If that won't work for you let me know and I'll send you a link to the files...
