Wally World sell some spray cleaners that work pretty good. Gumout works good but is harsh don't let it sit on rubber or finished parts. It cleans great.

last time i used gum out it stained the carbs, may try it on an old carb i have

Lowell,

Have you tried Yamaha Carb cleaner. It is an excellent cleaner mixed with gasoline. A bit pricey, but it will definately clean all the accumulated crub from the carbs.

used SEA FORM to clean the out side of the carb, this 93 vr need more than soup,409 used to work pretty good but i thank they have changed thir formly

I use regualar carb cleaner, and then follow up with SeaFoam 'Deep Creep' on all the moving parts and the choke pistons. The whole process will make things work again. The carb cleaner I use is also flamable. Works great to locate any vacuum leaks in the intake..... Save the Sea Foam for the inside of the carbs..... :)

B12 chem tool is the best there is use the spray bomb and the carbs will look like new. Don't let it sit on paint unless you don't want the paint on it.
