foyerboy Posted August 16, 2013 #3 Posted August 16, 2013 Riding as hard as you can, everywhere you can 1 up, throttle twisted so hard your forearm cramps, 31-32 mpg..... :rotf::rotf:

Condor Posted August 16, 2013 #5 Posted August 16, 2013 All the above are halucinating. All they get is 10mpg!!!!!
bongobobny Posted August 16, 2013 #6 Posted August 16, 2013 Yah! Around 40, give or take a little is pretty normal. I tended to bge a little more spirited so we generally got just under 40 by a few...
cw1263 Posted August 17, 2013 #7 Posted August 17, 2013 last tank some 2 up and to and from work 60-70mph 46.6 2006 RSV Midnight bone stock except for Bagger mufflers.
djh3 Posted August 17, 2013 #8 Posted August 17, 2013 Prior to sync carbs about a month ago it was about 36-38 on a good stint. Now on my normal "work route" where I got 36 I now get 38 after syn carbs. 41 Is about tops I have got.
Rick Haywood Posted August 17, 2013 #9 Posted August 17, 2013 Orlin that is exactly what I get just rode to birmingham today 1up at 75-80mph and aaveraged 38.4 mpg over 670 miles
Squidley Posted August 17, 2013 #10 Posted August 17, 2013 Thats right in the range of the Ventures both 1st and 2nd gens. I have gotten as low as 35 on a good running bike, and as high as 42. This is owning 3 2nd gens and 4 1st gens that saw lots of miles between them.
N3FOL Posted August 17, 2013 #11 Posted August 17, 2013 For some reason, I see very little difference whether I cruise at 65 or 75 mph.
OrlinEngh Posted August 17, 2013 Author #12 Posted August 17, 2013 Thanks for the info had the Venture for a couple of weeks and put a little over 600 miles on. I am averaging 38 miles per gallon with Sharon and me. Orlin
BottomFeeder Posted August 17, 2013 #13 Posted August 17, 2013 31mpg at cruising speed ~77mph, '13 rsv.
N3FOL Posted August 17, 2013 #14 Posted August 17, 2013 31mpg at cruising speed ~77mph, '13 rsv. I will assume you are still in your "break- in" period. Hopefully your mpg will improve down the road.
star4772 Posted August 18, 2013 #15 Posted August 18, 2013 Did the mileage check today with RSTD 42 mpg 2up 65-70 mph.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 18, 2013 #16 Posted August 18, 2013 Ethanol blended gasoline has less btu per gallon so you will get roughly 10% less mpg than if you can find and use pure gas. Plus, the kind of riding you do, the bike's state of tune, the gasoline grade and quality, your elevation, winds, and geography you ride thru will all make a difference. Most riders seem to get between about 34 to 45. I have seen mine as low as 27 pulling a trailer at high speeds, to about 48 when just slowly putting thru the mountain back roads. Also keep in mind that the odometer may be reading optimistic miles per gallon. When you install a Speedohealer, or compare it with another bike with an accurate odometer, you will have a better idea of actual mileage.

I know Sharon likes to go fast........ Well someone had to go there......
