I just installed two relays for my new horns and now I'm wondering if I mounted them in a good place. Should I leave them here or move them? Should I cover them somehow to protect them and what can I use? Here is a picture of one of the relays and a picture of my bike because it's finally back together after about 2 months of working on her.

By the way, if anyone is looking for relays, Amazon has a deal for two relays, fuse holders and relay plugs for $7.64. Here's the link:

They should be OK there, But I would turn them terminals down to help shed water.

Now why didn't I think of that. Thanks. I will.

Or you can wrap it in Rescue Tape". Best stuff I've ever seen. Gotta Google it. It does everything it says it does. IronMike turned me on to it.

If the terminals are turned down the the terminal covers will be turned up and will probably collect more water. Better to keep them mounted the way they are and cover the terminals. On my bike I mounted the relays to the front face of the fairing pockets and ran just the wires down to the horn connectors. I've seen a rubber cup, like a bell, that would work very well to weatherproof the connectors but unfortunately I can't recall what it was actually for.

Well I just installed my woo loo and I used the reg relay a sealed it up with that new style super glue, then I wrapped it in the RESCUE TAPE Google that it DOES do everything it says it does I been using it for years made a fan belt out of it once. But in this case I sealed off the wire end of the relay with it then top coated it with electric tape. Shot some WD 40 in there and relay is under side cover, should outlast me.

RESCUE TAPE also sold in as seen on TV area sometimes but what is there is not as good but same stuff just maybe thinner and lessor quantity than real rescue tape,

It should be in your side bag all the time. Great for sealing off wire connections and fixing leaks.

The position is probably fine, but you really didn't need 2 relays. Both horns are within the capacity of a single relay.
Not necessary but I like the idea of two relays because I mounted a Magnum inside the fairing paired with the OEM horn on each side which gives me 4 horns on two circuits. Lots of sound and a backup if one of the relays quits.

The set I purchase came with two relays and two fuse holders and wires. The location of the original horn wires made the installation of two simple. But I didn't know I could get away with one. I only knew that using the original horn wires on the new horns wouldn't power both of them.

I ordered a roll of Rescue Tape to protect the relays so thanks to those who suggested that.
