Don't know how old this is, but thought I would pass it on....

Biker%2520Dude.jpg

To the family in the red SUV at Tim Horton’s today.

Yes I am a big 280 lbs guy with motorcycles

and a full of tattoos, I am a welder, I am loud,

I drink beer, I swear and I look like I would eat

your soul if you stare at me wrong.

What you don’t know is that I have been happily

married for 11 years, my kids call me daddy,

I am a college graduate, my mother is proud

of me and tells everyone how lucky she is to

have such a wonderful son,

my nieces and nephews are always happy to

see there m’nonci Luc,

when my daughter broke her arm I cried more

than she did.

I read books, I help people, I go out of my way

to thank war veterans and I even cried at Armageddon…

So next time I smile and say hi to your little girl

and you grab her and tell her

“No no dear we don’t talk to dirty bikers”

remember that even tho you hurt my feelings

this “dirty biker” would be the first person to run

into your burning house to save your little girls

gold fish so she wouldn’t be sad!!!!

..

Thanks for reminding us that we may not always be appreciated but we know who we are and the kind of people we aspire to become.

Congrates to you man for not going off on them and proving them right.

You can't fix stupid.

But sometimes you can educate/ show them the error of their ways. :whistling::whistling::whistling: Just saying!

Ummm, depends. A "hi" and a smile, that's ok. A conversation with her, different story. Did you initiate the conversation with my little girl or did she? Any guy, dirty old biker or well dressed businessman, that starts a conversation out of the blue with my little girl & I have no clue who they are, will get a "excuse us, we gotta go" from me. I'm not against friendly, but some things I am wary of.

Anyways, one kid of mine will wave and say "hi" to a lot of people, so I'm used to acknowledging many people. She is such a flirt.

p.s. Dan, that dirty biker, is ok with my little girl. :stickpoke: :rotf:

p.p.s. Yes, my other daughter is getting close to dating age, so I need to get me a shotgun...

Well, I'd want a couple of more details but just smiling and saying "Hi" shouldn't have been justification for the person's actions. I occasionally have kids wave to me on the street as I ride by or wave and say "Hi" in a public place so I'll respond politely. Then again, I have a smaller beard and no tattoos so maybe I seem less threatening. If the story is true, it would seem that the mother is a bit of a bigot and not very bright. If you don't want your child speaking to someone, it is more civilized to say please don't talk to strangers than to resort to name calling. Again if the story is true, that child is being poorly raised by at least one intolerant parent.

Well, I think it just goes to say that some are way to fast to judge. I think about the "biker wave".

Arizona is a pretty friendly place when it comes to the wave. But, it depends on the type of bike you are riding. When my stable was full I rode a BMW K1200LT. I also had a KLR650, 2 TW200's, a TTR250 and a 100cc pit bike.

I could be riding any one of them at any time. I did notice that when I was on the smaller dual sports, bike bikes never waved or acknowledged me. If I was on the BMW they all waved. Same rider, different bike.

When they wouldn't wave, I would just laugh and think about what else I had top ride....

I wave (acknowledge) a moped or a scooter if they are riding by... :sun:

I've thought of waving to scooters and moped riders, but I'm afraid that the sudden disruption of air by my hand as I speed by might knock them out of control!

(Sorry ... just in one of "those" moods. It's been a wacky day!)

Riding for many years, many bikes, many friends, many shapes sizes some with- some without the common courtesy of a roach I prefer to ride alone now or with my boys.

As time has passed I have mellowed towards other people (s) spoken aloud thoughts that would better serve the privacy and echo of their own minds.

I have also raised two boys now men, mild mannered respectful adventuress, aware that not all youths road their trails! I believe in this would lay their future protective response to such an experience to their protected ones.

We are who we become because of what will we have had to overcome, and the will to move forward; I have come to believe firmly!

So make peace with it, accept yesterday, if we want respect we need to respect others and what makes them, them, we don't have to be their friends accept their judgement's or even remember them!

May the voices in your head be happy ones;) enjoyed the post, thanks

I think this garbage needs to be deleted pronto....its nothing but spam.

"Don't know how old this is, but thought I would pass it on..."

That sentence right there says it all. for the curious who may decide to find out how old...will end up at a porn site...now if that is what you are into, then ignore my warning.

There is also a website printed right underneath the guys arm....what do you think that is about? The more hits that sight gets, the more advertizing money that website makes.

The people that came up with this probably take bikers for ignorant suckers, and porn lovers.

Lets be careful about what we forward here...:backinmyday:

pogpog.com is a video sharing site the same as YOUETUBE!!! No one should make judgments without first investigating what they are objecting to.

And I do not have tattoo's but I have a pony tail and a beard and at times the beard gets VERY LARGE and scares little kids and when I am out working in the yard or working on my bikes I wear the most worn and tattered and dirty looking clothes I have and I wear a pair of beat up old slippers, I have TWO pairs of beat up old slippers in fact. And if you didn't know me you would think I was just some homeless old vet who lived under a bridge in an old box.

The thing is I just like being COMFORTABLE and my old clothes are nicely broke in when its time to throw them out. I'm retired and I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN what people think of me when they see me. I have lived my life and paid my dues, I spent time in the jungle fighting another mans war because I believed the cause was just, my dog is cranky and so am I at times. But I will give you the shirt off my back, as long as its not my holy one. I will go out of my way to help you and I will do anything for you. But if you are going to judge me because of how I look rather then how I conduct myself then I do not have the time of day for you.

do not judge, lest you be judged:backinmyday:

I wish that an influential person would write a viral piece coming out against waving. It's slightly dangerous depending on conditions and location and one feels that they have to wave or seem stuck-up, etc. I don't really like feeling like I have to be on alert for other guys to wave to in traffic when I should actually be watching traffic, operating the clutch, enjoying the scenery, etc. The damned wave is a curse and a scourge. A plague upon motorcyclists of every stripe.

Ok Folks,

We have had some VERY different responses to this thread, and it's really taken me by surprise.

Abdul, I hope there is some tongue in cheek with your statement about this being spam. I personally dont see it that way, but I'll be more than happy to check with the other moderators and get their input.

The bit about waving to other bikes has got me a bit befuddled as well. A simple nod if someone waves at you is sufficient as well. No needing to take hands off the bars. I see it as if someone is that apprehensive about taking their hands off the bar for a second, maybe motorcycle riding isn't quite a good past time for them. If you have to feel that every second your on a bike you have to worry about everything, it's not fun....:2cents:

Just lie down here and we can talk about it.

Why do you feel that way?

Do you think you were potty trained a bit too early?

Did you feel as if your mother didn't love you?

Hmmmmm?

Gentlemen and Ladies.

For now I will close this thread, it doesn't seem to be doing what I think was intended, it has no real plot if you will, and I wonder if there is any benefit for anybody to carry on any discussion, actually the opposite may happen as it seems.

Hope you all understand.

Carl
