When I put on brake pads , I take a file and remove a 45 degree angle at the leading edge of the pad, doesn't need to be much, but stops the squealing. Don't know why this works, because even after the pad has worn beyond the 45, it still doesn't squeal.

Try ceramic composite pads instead of the HH sintered people normally use. Not as harsh on rotors and a little quieter. I've tried the lube/stuff you put on the back but the sound just comes back over time.

Looking to put on new brake pads that don't squeek so much.

If those are the original pads they were known for squeaks/squeals and an all around grinding sound. EBC's HH pads up front should do the trick.

I have over 60K miles on a Roadstar went through all kinds of pads finding one that would work and not have any bad habits. They are same part numbers as Our Ventures.

What I use are Emigo that I get at Shadetree powersports. On the net free shipping.

Be sure you clean and polish the guide pins before re-installation. roll them on glass and be sure they are perfectly round, if they have low spots where the pads hang on them, this will cause the pad to hang in that low spot and not be able to retract away from the rotor.

Put small amount of caliper lube on the metal parts that the pads contact the caliper and slide. A tiny bit is all thats needed.

before installing your pads Spray the backside with Dic Brake quiet and let it sit 20 minutes and install. This anchors the pad to the caliper so when you let off the brake the pad retracts with the caliper.

And while I have em apart I spray the whole caliper with Simple green and Orange cleaner and clean it with a tooth brush, Dirt is your enemy.

I have no idea what the Emigo pads are made of, All I know is they stop me great, and low dust and no squeak or chatter. I ran into them on accident and glad I did. They preform well slamming the curves at the tail of the Dragon area 3 times a year!
