One of our members here..(you know who you are dude!) built his own, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried some of these or similar models, and if they seem to help being noticed in traffic.

I dont expect them to light up a dark road but maybe they will help get you noticed by the cagers. Nice thing about these, is that they wont over-tax your charging system. They are a bit spendy though.

They have several different models, and colors, and the smaller bullet shaped red ones look like a good fit for a trailer.

TIA.

I know that we carry 4 inch round white LED lights. They have 40 individual LED's in em and they are BRIGHT!!! LED's do not shine very well, but they are very noticeable to oncoming traffic or traffic behind you. Almost all new semi trailers are now equipped with LED lights.

I think that for additional lighting to be noticed they would work great. The price is a bit steep for my blood but they will eventually come down. I dont believe that they will put out enough Lumens to be used as true driving lights...interesting though

I have built my own in the turn, tail and stop plus the turn/run on the front. The white l.e.d.s age OK for bring seen but do not put out enough useful light just yet to replace the headlight. Although I have a couple of Surefire flashlights that are really bright. My next project is getting a couple of the same type of l.e.d.s for front running lights.

WalMart sells a small light for about $15. They have either 50 or 55 watt bulbs so should light up the road well as well as being seen. I think they're made by Optinics. JC W sells them to for a bit more $$$$.
