tbrdb0b Posted December 6, 2006 #1 Posted December 6, 2006 Has any body ever used nitros on a venture, was considering it just to be differant, how do you think the engine would hold up under minimum amount,, i Know it sounds nuts but why not.
Snarley Bill Posted December 6, 2006 #3 Posted December 6, 2006 engine should handle it just fine.probably can get a v-max set up .i'm sure there are lots of them available and they could help set it up for the venture.sure would be a sleeper.
rod Posted December 9, 2006 #4 Posted December 9, 2006 I saw a few here but do not know the owners. I see no reason why not. There are 2 RSV I have seen with turbos and they had some problems with getting them set up, don't know if they ever got them right. Rod
fixit3546 Posted December 10, 2006 #5 Posted December 10, 2006 I've never used the stuff; but i've made billions of pounds of it. Literaly.
craigatcsi Posted June 29, 2009 #6 Posted June 29, 2009 While crusing today, I had the same thought... Where would one go to look for info how to add it to a bike? craigr
Yammer Dan Posted June 29, 2009 #7 Posted June 29, 2009 Not Needed when these things are running right!!
Art708 Posted June 29, 2009 #8 Posted June 29, 2009 Not Needed when these things are running right!! These bikes aren't fast. They run well for 1300s but they are far from fast.
Brake Pad Posted June 29, 2009 #9 Posted June 29, 2009 lets face it people, If you bought a Venture, with the thought of a touring ride, and even question Nitros. your on the wrong bike
RandyR Posted June 29, 2009 #10 Posted June 29, 2009 Want to ride 200 mph??? then you need a Suzuki Huyabusa, Kawasaki Ninja, or BMW k1200. The BMW can be had with a nice sport touring configuration. These machines are designed to go that fast.
craigatcsi Posted June 29, 2009 #11 Posted June 29, 2009 lets face it people, If you bought a Venture, with the thought of a touring ride, and even question Nitros. your on the wrong bike I guess I want one for the 'shock value' more than anything. Even thought about buying one of those imitation ones that I've seen on Lawn Mowers, etc... I would never put Nitros on any of my vehicles, I believe it is too much stress on a very expensive vehicle. I was just curious. craigr
Rocket Posted June 29, 2009 #12 Posted June 29, 2009 These bikes aren't fast. They run well for 1300s but they are far from fast. Yup, you need a 1200 cc 1st gen. Or at least, do something about the 2nd gen rev limiter......
Art708 Posted June 29, 2009 #13 Posted June 29, 2009 Yup, you need a 1200 cc 1st gen. Or at least, do something about the 2nd gen rev limiter...... ummm...yeah. 1st or 2nd gen....it still ain't a fast bike. Who cares if one big, slow touring bike can outrun another big, slow touring bike? If you want to go fast buy a fast bike.
muffinman Posted June 29, 2009 #14 Posted June 29, 2009 ummm...yeah. 1st or 2nd gen....it still ain't a fast bike. Who cares if one big, slow touring bike can outrun another big, slow touring bike? If you want to go fast buy a fast bike. I hate to burst your bubble but I have outrun a busa on a 1300 and regularly show the local crotch rocket riders that a 1200 83 model will eat a crotch rocket for breakfast and spit it out. The top speed is not the question overall it is the riders balls to take a 26 year old 863 pound bike up to 148 mph and stay there when going around the blue lights. Yes I was thinking about adding notros to one of my 83s just for fun. Jeff

Yammer Dan Posted June 29, 2009 #16 Posted June 29, 2009 You ever rode a 83? A 83 running as it should will change your outlook. Just remember you are dealing with 800+ lbs. A little experience helps!!
Naked Rider Posted June 29, 2009 #18 Posted June 29, 2009 I had a 83 got it up to 112mph that was as fast as i wanted to go but she still had more left in her and as somebody allready said need bigger balls than me. I sure do miss her though.
GeorgeS Posted June 29, 2009 #19 Posted June 29, 2009 Not up to the task ! Now, a Honda ST-1300, I believe they are about 130 HP stock, and the bike is made to handle it. Owneing a Venture, and a Busa, believe me folks, there is a big difference in the frame's and suspension, steering, brakes, etc etc. Don't do it !!!
GeorgeS Posted June 29, 2009 #20 Posted June 29, 2009 Right. Just wondering, do you know how fast a Busa can go? ( assumeing its runnig right ) Lets see? 800 lb and 97 HP, against 500lb. and 174 HP, I think maby the guy you were raceing, was a little off his game the day you raced him. Also: I do have one of each in my garage, there is NO comparison. Unless you have a turbo on your Venture.

painterman67 Posted June 29, 2009 #22 Posted June 29, 2009 Have either of you guys rode with Muffinman. I have and I was in a cage at the time. I know for a fact he has the balls. If you dont believe him just take that BUsa of yours and find out for yourself. Now that being said I have been on a busa recently and I have to say I dont have the balls to run either one to their limits. David

I merely said that these bikes aren't that fast. A 'busa can eat a Venture without even breathing hard. There's always someone with bigger balls but bike for bike there's no comparison.
painterman67 Posted June 29, 2009 #24 Posted June 29, 2009 not arguing that point.I've rode both. All I am sayoing is muffinman is a little nuts on these things. David
