Our bikes need the 10m thread, the standard is 12 and they offer a 10mm extension, further backing off the spark from the hole, and we don't have a LOT of room for that tall device. I have one and switched to a cheap digital tach, able to read the full 1,000 rpm. Tune one for peak then back OUT just a bit (1/8th turn?) then repeat for the others, then run through it again, always adjusting the idle to keep the 1k rpm.

They do make a 10mm one.

I like them, I have one for my XJ750. But you still have to tweak your settings by checking plug color. So its a 6 of 1 and 1/2 a dozen of the other sort of deal.:backinmyday:

I have one that I have used on my older bikes. Worked o.k. on my XJ650. Easy plug access on that bike.

Haven't tried it on anything newer that 20 or so yrs old.
