mralex714 Posted August 10, 2013 #1 Posted August 10, 2013 Has anyone used this to help set proper idle fuel mixture? I am thinking of trying it. http://www.gunson.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=673&item=1853
mralex714 Posted August 10, 2013 Author #3 Posted August 10, 2013 Bought one. Tried it. Not very impressed What issues did you have with it?
mbrood Posted August 10, 2013 #4 Posted August 10, 2013 Our bikes need the 10m thread, the standard is 12 and they offer a 10mm extension, further backing off the spark from the hole, and we don't have a LOT of room for that tall device. I have one and switched to a cheap digital tach, able to read the full 1,000 rpm. Tune one for peak then back OUT just a bit (1/8th turn?) then repeat for the others, then run through it again, always adjusting the idle to keep the 1k rpm.
k9cottage Posted August 10, 2013 #5 Posted August 10, 2013 i have one and love it been using it for years on all my bikes

Huggy Posted August 11, 2013 #7 Posted August 11, 2013 I like them, I have one for my XJ750. But you still have to tweak your settings by checking plug color. So its a 6 of 1 and 1/2 a dozen of the other sort of deal.
V7Goose Posted August 11, 2013 #8 Posted August 11, 2013 I have one that I'd be happy to sell. Not impressed with it at all. Goose
Beau-Kat Posted August 11, 2013 #9 Posted August 11, 2013 I have one that I have used on my older bikes. Worked o.k. on my XJ650. Easy plug access on that bike. Haven't tried it on anything newer that 20 or so yrs old.
