Last week I had a problem where my brake switch went out for the rear..

 

when i rode it home the gas light was lit and I was on reserve.

 

playing with the lights i thought i would run the battery down, lookes for gas in the garage ,.. none..

 

found cheveron fuel treatment , just wanted to start it so battery wouldnt go dead,,

 

 

things worked out [not on purpose] where there was a whole bottle of treatment in tank and i started it probably 3 or 4 times.

 

sat for 2 days till i had time to get back to it

 

filled the tank and rode out

 

I had to turn the idle down 4 times in one day, have spent the last week straight on florida beach riding around ,

NO SPITTING OR SPUTTERING, NO BACKFIRING, SMOOTH ACCELERATION,,

Got the junk ALLLLLL cleaned out of her did ya! I like to throw some Stabil in the tank now and then keeps the carbs clean.

Buddy of mine used to use stabil for his bike every winter,, now his sits a long while as he puts its away early and wont ride till its good and warm out. But 2 years ago he had to have it taken apart and all cleaned becuz it wouldnt run. His bike machanic told him it was from the stabil being in there every winter for so long. He said it had gummed everything up pretty bad. He stopped useing it and Ive never used it. I always preferred sea foam, just thought id throw that out there

I've been using Sta-Bil for 30 years on everything from push mowers to marine engines. That push mower generally sits 7-8 months, same with the boat motor. The generator gets started every 4 or 5 months. Never a problem with any of it. I call BS.

Amen Carl, I use it too in everything I'm putting away for any length of time. My generator gets double dose /double strength, it has sat as long as 2 years and fired right up and ran like always.

For long term storage I add a concoction of double Stabil, seafoam, and Marvel Mystery Oil. Run it till it is for sure in the carbs. And winter storage gas is always E free.
