star4772 Posted August 8, 2013 #1 Posted August 8, 2013 Anyone know where I can check vin number report for free. Want to check bike before I trade. Joe
aharbi Posted August 8, 2013 #2 Posted August 8, 2013 Not sure if AZ will do it but I just went to our local DMV and told them I was about to buy this bike and if they would run the VIN for me, they did, not problems. The Texas DMV site now points to this site: http://www.carhistory.us.org/

Joe Not exactly sure what you mean by a VIN number report??? If you want to check to see if the bike has been reported stolen, you can go to the NICB web site and check the VIN.

Carbon_One Posted August 9, 2013 #5 Posted August 9, 2013 The next thing to do then would be sure there's no liens on it. Of if there is he gets it cleared. Larry
MiCarl Posted August 9, 2013 #6 Posted August 9, 2013 The next thing to do then would be sure there's no liens on it. Of if there is he gets it cleared. Larry Lien holders should be listed on the title. Not necessarily a bad thing, but another person to be involved in finalizing the transaction.

BradT Posted August 10, 2013 #8 Posted August 10, 2013 Lien holders should be listed on the title. . Curious is this all states ? Bought a bike in Michigan and ownership (title) stated no liens. Here in Canada we do not have that. In Ontario for about 30 bucks you can buy a report who owned it and if there is a lien on it. Someone has to purchase it suppose to be the seller but he may not supply and then the buyer has to purchase it. If you were the purchaser it is worth 30 bucks. Brad
