Hucklecatt Posted August 8, 2013 #1 Posted August 8, 2013 Sorry if this has been dealt with before. Pulled the wheels to polish and get fresh rubber. In doing so, may have swapped the right- and left-side spacers that sit at either side of the front wheel, through which the axle slides and the wheel uses to "center" itself. These spacers are "handed" to sides on the front wheel I now know - what are the implications of mistakenly mixing them up? Will the front wheel now center "wrong" and thus throw the caliper-to-rotor off some millimeters or so? How would I know - the pads have always slightly brushed the dual rotors on the front wheel - is there a definitive way to say "Uh-oh, these spacers need to be switched from their current sides."
Guest Posted August 8, 2013 #2 Posted August 8, 2013 Those are the same and will work both sides. Same part # listed in the parts fisch for both sides. If your wheel is free wheeling and there is no binding then you are ok.
Hucklecatt Posted August 12, 2013 Author #4 Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks to all - glad to know they are identical!
