Several at the rally & MD had asked for the recipe. Here is mine...

1 Gallon of apple juice

1 Gallon of apple cider

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

8 4" cinnamon sticks

Combine in a large pot & bring to a boil, stirring often. Let it boil for a couple minutes, then remove from heat.

Once cool, add alcohol.

I usually add 190 proof Everclear. I use 1 fifth + 1 pint.

Sometimes I use some "other" alcohol, but as the alcohol content is different, there is a formula you have to use to get the same results.

Enjoy!!

Will there be Apple pie at Vogel....? Thus far tramadol, hydrocodone and oxycodone do nothing to ease the pain in my knees. Since I'm not operating a bike this year having a few mins of bliss before I pass out each night would be welcomed. Someone make sure I get up the stairs at the Seasons inn before giving me alcohol however lol.

Oh thank God. I was afraid I might be the only one here with habits such as this. :clap2:

Everyone always seems so upstanding. :whistling:

I don't mix meds and alcohol...period....that is a huge no no. I tried the tramadol over the weekend after my knee was drained thurs. all I go was a huge migraine on Monday from my effort. Trust me when I say I don't want to be a burden to family by screwing up and doing bad things. However a half glass of a decent alcohol will give me bliss for a few hrs with no hangover. I hate being smashed and out of control. ATM I can barely walk stairs without assistance...this a big deal since the entire house is stairs.

One GALLON of EVERYCLEAR? WOW....that is going to be potent enough. :) Actually I guess that would make it close to 100 proof or 50% alcohol.

Strawberry, low carb

Fill mason jar 1/2 full with cleaned and quartered strawberries or watermelon

Chunks. Top off jar with everclear.

You can mix n match

Blueberries covered with peach juice

Strawberries covered with watermelon juice

Now top off with everclear and let them take a nap together.

Down here in the North Georgia mountains we bypass the pie part and just call it Apple Brandy...........or, just SHINE:whistling:

Dad used to run shine here in Middle GA back in the day...well mostly he was a lookout as a kid then when he was older he helped make and run it. Guess that's why his WW2 enlistment form lists him as a chemical engineer...because he never made it past 7th grade....

I'm thinking a jar of Apple Pie and a tub of rum balls will go just wonderfully together......:happy-emoticon:

You can keep all of those berry concoctions, I'm allergic to most berries.

John....I read this and started laughing like hell, were really not all as prudish as we appear. Some of us are, but there are others, like myself, that will partake every once in a while. We just mind our P's & Q's here on the site and when there are kids around. I have helped a few of the members here back to their tents, cabins or even into their houses before after a few too many ahem...libations

Never once thought prudish. To much humor here to think that. Along with rib poking and trash talking and all that good stuff.

I'm jut glad that it appears I won't be a black sheep if (when) I have a shot and a beer.

My family immigrated here about 1950 and brought with them some middle European home making skills. Part of the family that settled in the Rochester area had pear trees and plum trees. Much of their crop ended up in clear liquid form. "Brandy" they called it. :rotf: Roughly 160 proof, pretty smooth for the strength.

The WNY meeting I will have to be a good citizen. I do have to ride to the motel. When I get to one where I get to camp and if I should come up missing please see to it that I made it all the way into my tent.

I did ask a friend and his wife to come with us as guests. Should they be able to come I will update my guest list as soon as I know. Tim rides my first VR.
