We just bought an 05 Midnight Venture and love it.

One thing we have found is that it sites bit taller than

our 06 RSTD.

I have read posts talking about lowering their scooters

How would one go about lowering a RSV.

Barons rear lowering kit. Warning, you will loss some handling when lowered. You can also lower the front forks. You can find the procedure in the tech section.

I would not recommend lowering this bike. I bought an 06 RSV that had been lowered and it handled very bad and scrapped in turns. :bang head: I was at the point of not wanting to run it anymore. I returned it to stock height and it now handles like it should. Having said that, Barons make a kit to lower it. Perhaps others could pipe in with their experiences. :backinmyday: I know some have opted to do a seat mod instead.:322:

I have to politely disagree with Bert2006 as well as Steamer. I bought mine with Barons lowering kit from P.O. the front is NOT lowered. The bike handles amazing and I am an all weather, all terrain rider. some people frown upon lowering it, but in all honesty, I handle the bike well. this includes passing the ride like a pro course ( without dropping bike) as well as on the fly u turns 2 up. now you can also get the butt butler modification which drops it .5 1 inch. Am I the guru of riding? Not even close, but I have no troubles, and I also have improved handling with the PSI at 40/40

I lowered the forks in the tripple tree. For me it made it to where my feet can be flat and actually if I need to I can push backwards say out a parking spot. Its a free mod just takes some time and effort. If you like it fine, if you dont you dont have a couple hundred invested either.

We just purchased a 02 Midnight RSV and it has been lowered at the rear, before that I was riding a 86 Venture so just going from first gen to second gen was different then you add in the lowered aspect it just added to it.

After about 3 plus weeks all is good now, the only issue I have is that when riding 2 up, the tips of my exhaust have scrapped the ground when leaving a couple of parking lots. As for scrapping in turns, I have not experienced this yet. I think the bike handles ok and love the ride it gives. My only concern would be if I was to install a hitch and pull a trailer, I would probably raise it back to the stock height at the back end.

Enjoy the new ride.

Can someone tell me what lowering the forks on the triple tree means.. Can

I do that or a pro shop and about how much? Thanks in advance for any replies!

You actually slide the forks up in the triple tree, which lowers the front end. You basically take the front fairing off, and handlebars, loosen the triple tree and slide the forks up about 1inch, I think you need to turn the schrader valves out so you can add air to them. This is a simplified explaination, there is a fair amount of time involved to do this, but I dont believe it is overly difficult. Guess it depends how handy you are and how willing you are to tear the front end apart. Think Wildbill in NC will do it for a fee, you mite want to contact him for more info.
