I see, the teflon insulation is for the high melting temperature. I don't know what the melting point of the Kynar 460 insulation would be. That's not given on RS's website.

Yep...my guess is, the wires reach a temp of a couple of hundred degrees...you dont want the insulation melting, and the wires touching bare metal to metal...shorts are BAD news when they catch you on fire!

Sometimes I wish I were as mechanically inclined as the people here on this site. For those who are as challenged as I am, I bought the classic jacket liner and gloves last year aong with a dual control and love them. The connectors are the same as Gerbing and I haven't been able to find a quality difference either. Just about half the price.
