Yesterday was a good day... I traded my Burgman 650 for a 91 Venture Royale... What a difference.... Now I have to learn how to use all the stuff... I have a number of questions that maybe I can list some things and see where that goes...

1. Checking oil and stuff before a ride... What do y'all check before you go out for a ride???

2. Does any of the electronics need a cover for rain or are they weatherproof??

3. I noticed a cassette deck... (I don't even own any cassettes)... Has anyone done a mods to allow a aux in or a way to plug in a smart phone or mp3 player???

any other tips or so for a new owner... I have only had the bike for a day but the ride is great...

Thanks

Boda

Welcome!!

You will get allot of valuable information in the 1st Gen forum section and doing a search in the "search" drop down. Just type what your looking for and a list will show up. If your equipment on the bike is factory it's water proof, but I make no claims that it would be 100%.

Oh and we need to see pic's of your new ride. This is a must because as you will here.( it's a useless thread with out pic's)

Congrats and enjoy your new 1st Gen it is a GREAT BIKE......Ron:cool10:

Yup! Welcome aboard!

Oil, there is s sight glass towards the bottom of the engine, oil level should be checked on the center stand cold and should be halfway up.

Yes, the electronics are waterproof but there is a plastic cover for the cassette deck. Cassette deck can either be removed and an auxillary jack installed for MP3, etc or just buy a cheap cassette adapter for plugging in MP3, etc.

Good luck, you just bought one of the best touring machines ever made that was light years ahead of everything else!:group cheers:
