stickhandle2 Posted August 2, 2013 #2 Posted August 2, 2013 Interesting post, I was wondering the same thing about which Headsets are preferred. We just picked up an 02 Midnight Venture. Look forward to what people like and don't like about the different head sets
RedRider Posted August 2, 2013 #3 Posted August 2, 2013 You will need to let us know what type of helmet you have. Beanie 3/4 Modular (flip face) Full face RR
RedRider Posted August 2, 2013 #4 Posted August 2, 2013 Also, if you happen to be in the market for a new helmet, J&M sells helmets with their headsets installed. RR
chag67 Posted August 2, 2013 #5 Posted August 2, 2013 I have a set of headsets that I can sell you for $100.
chag67 Posted August 2, 2013 #6 Posted August 2, 2013 The headsets I have are the modular ones that were $200 each. I used them one time. Didn't like the cords attached to the bike. Ill sell them both for $100 total.
stickhandle2 Posted August 2, 2013 #7 Posted August 2, 2013 Never thought of the type of helmet, I mostly ride with a Bell shorty, but do use a modular from time to time, the better half use a open face with i visor that flips up. Thanks
slowrollwv Posted August 2, 2013 #8 Posted August 2, 2013 I have the J&M headsets for the 3/4 helmets ,and like them best. I tried the Honda Line headsets and the cord kept coming off at the helmet and finally broke one of the pins off.
Barry1951 Posted August 3, 2013 Author #9 Posted August 3, 2013 Char, would like to talk to you about the headsets, can you call Me or email me , 903-315-7756 or email barry.higginbotham@gmail.com What brand, etc. by the way, we ride with HJC 3/4 open face.
Woody Posted August 3, 2013 #10 Posted August 3, 2013 I have the J&M headsets for the 3/4 helmets ,and like them best. I tried the Honda Line headsets and the cord kept coming off at the helmet and finally broke one of the pins off. I use the honda ones and they come unpluged regular, I tried a zip tie on them but it did not hold I think I will try a spot of superglue, what do you think? oh yea to stay on subject we use J&M and like them.
IronMike Posted August 3, 2013 #11 Posted August 3, 2013 I read some threads and it seemes edsets were what people liked most. The g3 with the thunderclap option is what I ordered. They have a youtube that expkains the system. Seems to be the best out there but at about $250 each to the front door they should be.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted August 3, 2013 #12 Posted August 3, 2013 I have two J +More sets for the 3/4 helmets that came with my bike I would be happy to sell. Lori and I use Scala rider between us and do not use CB so give me a call or PM
slowrollwv Posted August 3, 2013 #13 Posted August 3, 2013 I use the honda ones and they come unpluged regular, I tried a zip tie on them but it did not hold I think I will try a spot of superglue, what do you think? oh yea to stay on subject we use J&M and like them. When my Honda line broke the pin, I took them out and put them in my junk box. Put my J & M back in the helmets. J & M is hard to beat for customer service, I sent mine back three times and they fixed the cord under warranty and I know it was expired for a long time.
