How can I protect the fairing from damage when the bike goes down? Are there any bumpers that I can attach to the top of the fairing?

Just pull a Charlie... and ride it down........ :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

At very low speeds, the factory crash bars to a pretty good job. I dumped mine in a sandy wash near my house. It simply fell on the crash bars and stayed there. At higher speeds, I think all bets are off.

nope nothing that I can think of. For a straight drop, the fairing should take it pretty good, particularly if, like I did, you try to stop it until the very end!

I dropped my 83 twice and it didnt do anything but rough up the paint a little.

Rolling lay down...whole differant ball game.

There use to be some chrome ouch strips, but I do not know if you can get them anymore. If anyone knows if there are some out there then let me know as I have been looking for some time.

I saw on tv a while back where some company was designing something like that for sport bikes. It goes around the engine to protect the bike doing tricks. It would protect very well against dropping them over, but none for touring bikes yet....
