No Power, Idol Up and Down.

While riding my 2002 Venture I came to a stop light and out of the blue my RPMs dropped from 1000 down to about 500 and then back to 1000. When I went to pull away I killed the engine. I was able to restart the engine but had to give the bike much more power to keep from killing it. I was able to get it home but my idle is all up and down. I did change the fuel filter this spring. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting???

Sounds like fuel pressure. I would start there.

Try the fuel cap. may be plugged. open the cap then close it and try again. vent holes do get plugged up.

Also check the tank vent hose it may be crimped somewhere
