Since you have an '83standard can we assume that you don't have an OEM CB but an aftermarket. Qual/Comm is one that was made for the early Venture. So we have no idea what kind of CB you do have, and what blue wire you're refering to??? Could you give us a better idea.

OK, It looks like you have an OEM CB out of Canada. I'm not sure about bikes that were imported into our next door neighbor... Is your speedometer in Kilometers?? Or did you or a previous owner pick the CB up and are installing it... ???

Well i would say it was bought that way. The preowner could not have aforded that and never traveled much as his health prevented that. Went to school with him bought it from his oldest son after he passed. He owned it for years. The speedo is mph. So it would have to be first owner in early 80 that installed or bought that way

How about taking a pic of the CB and posting it.... Because the CB's I have don't have that blue connector plug. The power comes off the Amp, and if I remember correctly the '83 amp doesn't have a plugin for a CB. And the antenna pigtail goes into the splitter. Also the antena itself needs to be charged out for a center loaded model. The am/fm '83 antenna won't work. There's a lot of things that need to be done to add an OEM CB. Probably the reason that it's still sitting in a box....

it has the loaded antenna on bike will have to replace it as top mast missing after load. the cb does plug into radio. has switches on handle bars. its all there except head. i will find one just will take time. 24000 on clock so have plenty of time.
