Due to a death in the family, I missed the last couple days on it, but hell, 450 bux for a shock with 85,000 miles on it? Dang!! I can get a brand new one for 389!!!
Squidley Posted February 20, 2008 #2 Posted February 20, 2008 I saw that too Forrest...ebay can really be a funny place to watch folks pay new prices for used stuff
Condor Posted February 20, 2008 #3 Posted February 20, 2008 What's even more amazing is that it took 5 bidders to get it to go that high..... and it was another one of those hidden bidder deals. I wonder how any of them were legit...??
Yammer Dan Posted February 20, 2008 #4 Posted February 20, 2008 Got caught up in a couple of those and paid more than I wanted to for something. Now I set a limit and CHECK SHIPPING.
flb_78 Posted February 20, 2008 Author #5 Posted February 20, 2008 Yep, I was burned by shipping once. Now I check every item I purchase for shipping costs before bidding.
yamahamer Posted February 20, 2008 #6 Posted February 20, 2008 I Sold My Stock Slip Ons For $385.00 On Ebay..........theres A Sucker Born Every Minute!
Condor Posted February 20, 2008 #7 Posted February 20, 2008 Yep, I was burned by shipping once. Now I check every item I purchase for shipping costs before bidding. It's getting to be a common practice for sellers to start an auction at $.99 and pad the hell out of their shipping charges to where they are more than the item is worth. The one that really gets me is the seller charging 20 bucks via UPS for something that can be mailed USPS priority flat rate for $8.95. They do this to get away from paying any Ebay end-user fees. I figure it's coming out of my pocket in the long run, so if I see something like that happening I'll report them to Ebay. There's a page for doing that. I know it sounds like I'm a PITA but if you spent as much money as I do for shipping every year you'd be a bit touchy too....
