Condor Posted July 25, 2013 #1 Posted July 25, 2013 I'm installing a Hopnel bib on my RSV tank and the velcro tape at the front that rolls?? under the edge of the tank is too long...I think?? Anyway getting the front of the leather, that has the hook portion to roll under is a pita. The cut outs are in the right place for the igintion cover to fit and the back end fits with the plastic plugs in the right place, but the front overhangs the edge of the tank by about an inch and there's no way it's plyable enough to rolled under and stay stuck to the velcro tape. It's a pretty popular style Hopnel bib, but it's an older used bib with the basket weave in the center and matches my trunk bib. So my question is has any of you run into this problem and how did you handle it?? I'm thinking that triming the overhang off except for a small tag of velcro on the bib and putting the velcro tape on the top of the tank might be a solution??? Any other ideas??
awsmsrv Posted July 25, 2013 #2 Posted July 25, 2013 Mine's the same. Just let lay where it wants. You (or anyone else) will never notice it.
Black Owl Posted July 25, 2013 #3 Posted July 25, 2013 Or you could get some 3/4 inch roofing staples and just tack it in place on the tank. Always willing to offer my xpurt advise :rotfl:

XV1100SE Posted July 25, 2013 #5 Posted July 25, 2013 I found the same thing with my Hopnel bib but I just let it "hang" off the front. Didn't staple/velcro or fasten it in any way. No issues.
Condor Posted July 26, 2013 Author #8 Posted July 26, 2013 OK, I guess I guess I'll just let it all hang out......

JerryK Posted July 30, 2013 #10 Posted July 30, 2013 I agree.....Don't worry about it let it hang where it wants! Great bib I've had mine on two Gen II's for over 200,000 miles...works great! Also a can of Pop with a cuzy on it will fit tight and ride all day between the gas cap and the pouch and never move....Drives my Harley Buddies crazy! :Venture:JK/Troy Ohio
