Trader Posted July 25, 2013 #1 Posted July 25, 2013 Great....got the electrical gremlins fixed (I hope) and checked out the tires.....my rear tire is cracking and worn!!!!!! So, I've got a good tire on my 83. Can I just change the rotor and mount the GenI rear wheel or do I have to get the Mk I tire off and re-installed on the Mk II rim? No time or money for new tires! I'm leaving in about 36 hours Anybody know a good tire shop in Galina?
bongobobny Posted July 25, 2013 #2 Posted July 25, 2013 In a word, yes! You will also have to change the grey piece that covers the differential as they are different as well, but I'm about 97.213% sure it will fit after that...
campfire12 Posted July 25, 2013 #3 Posted July 25, 2013 Better check the roters. They may be different from mk1 to mk2. If thats the case it will be easier to change the tires on the rims. The last time i changed roters from 1 rim to the other i spent over 1/2 a day. Had to heat the roter bolts up with a torch red hot and still broke 2. Then were talking drilling and taping holes. Good luck my friend but my luck with those roter bolts was no luck at all.
