I used a Pioneer 4" speaker I picked up from Best Buys years ago. Not sure if they even make them still. The key is for them to be 4 inch speakers and waterproof cant hurt either.

Do a search and you should find some old threads on this subject.

Hope that helps

Yes I'm going with marine speakers. 4 inch will hit the local marine shop. Cannot find local dealer for the recommended speakers. :confused24: So I'll have to have a good look.:backinmyday:

water proof really isnt required as long as the grill is still there, ive got 4'' alpines in it and will soon be upgrading to 5 1/4" speakers soon, though this can only be done it you have gutted all the venting from under the fairing as the new brackets takes up where the vent used to be

I have 4 Polk DB401's in my fairing. Good sound for 4" coaxial. Hoping for good water resistance as the second set are mounted sort of flat.

OK, before someone uses one of the icons picture to follow.

Here is what I have ended up with so far. The plates that I replaced the original plastic pieces with were my first attempt and are not as nice fitting as I hoped they might be. Over the winter I am going to make new ones that will fit better. Or at least I hope the new ones will fit better.

Do these 4" speakers fit the front and rear of the 2nd Generations also? I can't seem to get the radio on my '99 to sound good when I'm riding; I've tried adjusting the treble and bass and can't get a good consistent sound.
