Trader Posted July 23, 2013 #1 Posted July 23, 2013 Hey Seinfeild made a career out of "nothing really" Today, I was continuing my saga of tracking down wiring woes. I finally got the driving lights working without blowing fuses...but the "illuminated" light switch refuses to illuminate I'll buy another tomorrow (again!) and try that. At least I'm confident I have it all wired properly now. Note to self: winter project- WIRING....neaten it up and sort color coding, label etc. It's a real mess in there. I had to run to the store....about 40 min away so I just "sort of" put the top cover back on the left side of the fairing and headed down the road without the false tank cover on either. I was amazed at how much heat came up into my face without it!
Flyinfool Posted July 23, 2013 #2 Posted July 23, 2013 So what was blowing the fuses, the relay or the switch or??????
Trader Posted July 23, 2013 Author #4 Posted July 23, 2013 I THINK it was a bad ground. To be honest, I was trying to clean up the neg. terminal and forgot to reconnect a ground from the ACC. terminals. So I guess it was finding another route to ground and blowing a fuse? That's the only thing I can see that I did different. It was odd.....it was OK when I turned the switch on....but blew the fuse when I turned it off. ???????????????????????
Trader Posted July 23, 2013 Author #6 Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) That there is one of those ID-Ten-T errors. Edited July 23, 2013 by Trader edited because I made another one!
